~ RANGER LEAN-TOS ~ LOCATION: On the lower level of Camp at the metal bridge, the intersection of Burma Road and Frink’s Brook NEAREST PARKING: Lower-level parking lot located off Boyhaven Road approximately two-tenths of a mile from the Route 29 turn-off and on the right DROP-OFF ACCESS: With the Ranger’s permission (and a key to the gate) a limited number of vehicles may drive to the lean-to area via Burma Road to drop off and pick up camping equipment and supplies. Alternatively, and preferably, Scouts may borrow "camp carts" to transport their food and gear from the parking lot to the Pioneer campsite # OF LEAN-TOS: 4 CAPACITY: 8 per lean-to RENTAL FEE: $2.50 per person (in-Council Units); $4.00 per person (out-of-Council Units) WATER SUPPLY – WARM SEASONS: Spigot in the campsite WATER SUPPLY – WINTER: Spigot on the south side of the White House to the right of the Ranger’s porch or a spigot on the entrance-side of Winter Barracks just to the right of the doorway NEAREST LATRINES: One along Burma Road northeast of the Pioneer campsite and one to the southwest across Burma Road from the Lundergan Pavilion NEAREST SHOWERHOUSE: The lower-level showerhouse is across the metal bridge and up the trail to the right. The new winterized facility is on Murray Lane north of the Parade Field about a five minute hike from the Ranger lean-to site OTHER CAMPING FACILITIES NEARBY: Plenty of open space for tent camping.
