OPEN AREA CAMPING AT BOYHAVEN
GENERAL INFORMATION There are many "open areas" at Camp Boyhaven which are suitable for tents and under-the-stars camping. Except for the Pine Grove, the areas listed here are not included in descriptions of tenting areas in close proximity to cabins and lean-tos listed elsewhere.POLICIES & RULES: Garbage policy: Pack it in; pack it out. Open fire policy: Construct a "fire ring"; use existing rings if available. Use dead-and-down wood for open fires, not chunk wood from cabin woodshed supplies. No trenching. Each tent should have at least one full water bucket (#10 can) in front of it. No flames in tents. Read and follow the BSA and Camp Boyhaven rules for use of liquid fuels. Click on the OPEN AREA NAME in the table for specific information RENTAL FEES: Building and lean-to fees are noted in the linked descriptions in the above table. The "open area" fee was dropped in 2007. Tenting on Mother Earth is free! RESERVATION PROCEDURE : Reservations must be made through the Twin Rivers Council Office by completing a Camp Use Application. You should call the Council Office (869-6436) prior to submitting your paperwork to check on the availability of your selected campsite for the weekend you have chosen to visit Camp .CHECK IN PROCEDURE As soon as you arrive in Camp, please check in at the White House so that Ranger Dan knows that you have made it to Camp Boyhaven safely and so that he can give you instructions, tell you about the Historic Trail, answer your questions, and open the gate to the parking lot.ENJOY YOUR STAY AT CAMP BOYHAVEN!
