The NOVA Center
The "pole barn" was
originally constructed for storage but has more recently been re-shaped into a
center of activity for our Cub Scout Summer Camp: the NOVA Activity Center.
During the July-August Cub and Webelos camping sessions, the barn becomes
Trading Post, Camp Office, and program area. The interior walls are
appropriately decorated with Staff Plaques from the many decades during which
Camp Boyhaven served as the Schenectady County Council Boy Scout Camp as well as
displays from more recent Cub summer camp activities. It is not unusual to
observe camp visitors perusing the walls for memories of days at Boyhaven as a
camper or staff member. There’s a lot of history posted in this building
qualifying it as an annex to our Museum of Scouting in the White House.
